For some reason I thought the railroad ran from San Antonio down the valley to Bahía de los Muertos. You have any information about that?

Bahía (or Ensenada) de Muertos was a shipping point for the silver when operations were taken over by the French El Boleo Company in 1924. No railroad line is mentioned in my books. In later years, it was used to ship out produce from the Los Planes area farms.

Good question! Maybe if the silver prices were better or the mine was more productive? The good times don't last... 1929 was just around the corner!

I’ve heard that in support of a new container port in Mazatlán there will be a railroad link to Durango added. What do you know about this project?

Yes, and in this article is a link to my one on the Last Flores Railroad... There are more railroads in Baja than these three, as well. Santa Rosalía had several miles of mine railroad lines. A train engine is on display in that town.

Sounds like the one proposed for Punta Colonet to Yuma before the 2008 economy killed the port plan there.
I am not heavily versed on Mainland Mexico. Baja gives me enough material to think about!

I measured El Triunfo myself
hiking the old bed to the Humboldt Mine
2.48 miles

there is a second bed to a mine (don't have the name) in Arroyo Los Encinitos
that one is 1.73 miles

any plans in that book?
