Hacienda Don Jesus is very nice. Secure parking for oversized rigs as well.

Hotel Capitan, south end of town. Close to the malecon, good rates, and pet friendly.

I don't believe the category of safest applies to San Felipe,
as in personal safety, certain vehicles are a target though.
There hasn't been any 'recent'
major safety concerns that I'm aware of.
Not to suggest there hasn't been an incident or 2 a few
months back, not involving Tourists. You didn't mention your length of stay, as in
a condo rental. Is a place named Sanddollar 2 mi. so of
the center of SF, on the upper end of price

Stayed there for the first time a couple weeks ago.
We stayed at El Cortez, all was good. Plenty of NORRA rigs in parking lot, Razors, etc...
We checked out Las Palmas also, it seemed great too but we wanted to be closer to the beach.

Good Luck

I booked El Cortez, stayed there before. It's just an overnighter, over the border and back.

Just thought of something else. We will be driving back down through the San Ysidro crossing on the return. Now that we are Permanent Residents, I can't remember if there are designated lanes for Mx citizens or permanent residents? Or should we just do the gringo lanes as we will have the new KTM's behind us? Red Flags?
