Repeating place names and mission boundaries?

A question maybe someone here can answer.
Does the repetition of saintly settlement names in Baja California say something about the boundaries of individual missions? Was it ok to reuse place names as long as they were in different mission territories?

Here are two San Jose de las Palomas as an example. Was the northern one in the territory of San Fernando and the southern one part of San Borja?

The Catholics have something north of 10,000 saints.
While a large number, it's likely necessary to reuse names for places.

Fun facts:
4300 religions worldwide
18000 gods

Mission names often reflected the name of its benefactor. Mission San Luis Gonzaga was financed by a wealthy man named Luis. Mission Santa Rosa by Rosa de la Peña, etc.
