David K, how long until we see the park boundaries drawn on a map?

Who knows?
I will alert Benchmark Maps to add them in the Second Edition of their Baja Atlas!
Many thanks!!

"In Baja California, the San Quintín National Park (85 hectares) is added; Baja California Sur with the Nopoló National Park (2,076 hectares) and the Loreto II National Park (6,217 hectares)."

Well that is interesting, it should help to protect the flora and fauna in those areas a little. One would hope. An official designation does not necessarily mean that anything will be protected.

I tried to figure out what a "UNESCO" designation, as in the El Vizcaino biosphere reserve actually means, seems that it has some fine print that allows for economic activates such as farming, ranching, etc. so not sure what really is being protected. I think I read somewhere that cattle grazing has been limited in some areas to allow the desert antelope to have a chance at survival, but in many areas including the National Park Constitucion de 1857 there are plenty of cattle.

6,000 hectares near Loreto sounds pretty big. That's almost 24 square miles if my math is correct.

Any idea where this is located specifically?
