Well, wadda ya know. There is certainly a flurry of Pemex construction going on from ene to end. I wonder why they dont take advantage of the Catavina area where everyone gets low? Politics?

Because it cost more to operate a business in the central desert, and there are no banks or armored car service theft/robbery is a high risk, employees are a rare find, the socialized gasoline distribution (same price everywhere) that doesn't permit the potential franchiser to raise the price and make the same profit as a city run Pemex... all make it difficult to operate a gas station out there... San Agustin, Catavina, L.A. Bay Jcn. (Parador Punta Prieta) all failed... I also know they were ejido operated, and poor business practice (spending all the gross sales, and not paying for future gas deliveries) ended them.

Please support people like Alfonso in Catavina who sells gas when Pemex is closed... He makes a gross profit of only $1/gallon and drives over 150 miles to get more gas and bring it there, for those who need it.

LABay Pemex is open.... yeah, but does it have gas?

As to Alfonso at Catavina, last month I asked him to sell me 5 gallons and he wouldn't even get out of his car to respond, just leaned back and ignored me.

Ah well, life is still good in Central Baja.

well, lets see now, if you go to docs site ( campgecko.com) and look at the picture he post on his news update link, it shows him filling a blue 55 gal.barrel with something right next to the fuel pumps. If doc says its open you can bet it's pumping fuel. but i'll bet it sells beer 'n chips too:lol::lol: I would have posted the pic but it is too big (120k) to post here.

Doc says it will be open 7am to 7pm . He also reported that the gallons (or liters) of fuel pumped are, at this time, accurate.

Pemex at Bay of L.A.

Not quite yet! When we got gasoline there ten days ago the area inside the building was quite barren. - No beer an' no chips yet anyway.
