Car pool lane at the border....
While waiting at the border crossing last week I saw cars just whizzing past in a lane with baracades dividing it from the regular lanes, too late did
I realize that it was a car pool lane, anybody know how to get into it? BTW it's for 3 persons only (which I had)

If your coming from the quota just stay in the right lane. There are signs also pointing to the car pool lane.

Car pool lanes
Yea,
But it ends up being choked down after you go under the bridge and it really ends up taking much longer, in my experience, than staying to the left
and getting to the point that the lanes expand.

Bernie, I watched them soar by right up to where you could see them at the booth! It took me 40mins. I'm sure they were maybe 10mins. tops! I first
noticed them way past the bridge....

What ever!
I use the sentri lane unless we have friends with us and then I try to stay out of the carpool lane just from experience. Things change at the border
based upon who is checking what lane. Just a big game.

Bernie,
I'm sure it varies depending on what time you are crossing also. Since I only cross maybe 3 times per year (remember I'm coming from near Seattle) I
don't think the Sentri Lane would be a good option for me...or maybe it might be worth it? What does it cost? I think I heard something like $120per
year? And just how fast does it work? What do you have to do to get the pass? Thanks for the info.

Deb
Three times a year just is not worth it. I cross at least 50 times a year and with the Senti it is usually less that 5 minutes.

As I get older (I turned 50 in Jan.) my time seems to worth more than it once was (not as many years left as I once had, LOL!) So it might just be
worth it especially when I still have at least 2 day drive ahead of me with young children in the rig....so, I would be interested in knowing what it
cost, and just what it takes to get one. Thanks

Debra,
We took the carpool lane Monday after the race. We made it through in 15 min. tops. There are usually police at the top weeding out those who don't
have 3 or more in the vehicle. The entrance is on the right hand side, beginning at the bottom of the swoop up to the bridge.

Debra, are you sure you weren't watching the Sentri lane? The car pool lane (I have used it a couple times with both my kids with me) is not much, if
any faster... The Sentri lane has 1-10 cars waiting, only... and that moves fast.
