loreto trip

just got back from a yearly trip for fishing in loreto. a lot of road construction has made for a really improved road. had sun and heat the entire time there, but the area is very green because of recent rains. 3 of us drove down, and 6 flew in. 2 on alaska and 4 on aero cal. we stayed at the pinta 5 nights and were treated well. dinners at the palapa and the lobster trap were great. but none topped the dorado and lobster cookout the 9 of us and our fishing guides had on the beach in front of our room.
on the return trip we made a trip out to BOLA for a day of yellowtail fishing. we stayed at villa vita( yea i should know better by now) but their ramp is very convienient, I just keep thinking those guys someday will get with the whole hospotality thing. we did good with the yellows and overall had a great trip, mucho amigos , mucho cervesas, mucho pescado.
The dorado were very elusive in loreto, and we ended up with marlin and tuna. a couple of stray dodos were caught, but nothing like the typical bullhead slammers im used to in august.

Villa Vita was 65 bucs, we had air conditioning from 4pm to midnite. the shower water just trickled out and there was no cold or hot it was just what ya got. free boat ramp and use of his cold storage was the plus.

heard about some small dodos getting caught there, we didnt have any luck with the live bait so we just went for the yellows with jigs.
ive read that you have a place there now 4baja, would like to check it out sometime. maybe there again for the 1000 in nov.
