This board is the best current version of a Roman Senate

that I know of.

There is intrigue, accusations, threats, response and re-response...and all, as far as I know, in a bloodless arena.

So, I guess that we have evolved?

Well,

since I am a citizen of Ireland, I usually swerve around the ides of March and dive into St. Patricks day ;D (not).

Bajanomad board has "search". I doubt the Romans had that. They had to try to remember what some certain Senator might have said 6 years ago. They were glad for the diference "verba volent, scripta manent". "Spoken words fly away, written words remain." I think we can all agree that "search" might be handy when looking for a cheap room but it has been more than occassionally used to splice and dice, bring the worst kind of blood -- bleeding pride for those who were the object of attack.

some of the latest has seemed more like a soap opera. excessive emoting with lots of plot turns and mind numbing pointlessness. sorry to insult soap operas<:O)

That I appreciate the experience you have to offer, even if I might differ a bit from your theology. You have a gentlemanly courtesy about you that is appealing. Zoe

strikes me as a gentleman when he is not being ornery. I would definitely choose him to be on my team if I had the option.

You know about my high regard for you and how you approach life---But this is bulls*t when you keep talking about leaving. I have thought the same thing many times but I keep staying and it does keep getting better--so suck it up like you have all of your life and gather around the campfire with your friends--I consider myself one of them.

If I can't wander off with my tail between my legs then neither can you--Got it?

As Richard keeps saying, What about Baja?

My smidgen of a claim to fame is that I have had so many really good friends. By Bernie Swaim December 2007
