You can moniter on 16 Debrah. Hail on 16, then choose a channel (usually 18 or 22) to talk. Unless you have a boat, phones are easier. PHil S

Loreto "Old Timers"


Back in the 70s, when my parents were living in Loreto, they would use VHF/ CBs to talk from casa to casa.. everyone had base unit in the homes. (before the town had phone service)
Now you have high speed internet throughout Loreto..Times have changed:yes:
We still have the base unit, with about a 50' antena to monitor ch16 all the time. Have had a few SOSs over the years to help stranded boaters out on the water.
The morning sialboat "chat" is kind of nice to listen to over a cup of coffee:biggrin:
On the water I like to scan between 16 -68 -72-11 (11 is the local pangalero channel)
