From New York to Cape Cod: Recollections

My brother reached his nineteenth birthday and bought a beat up Willys with his partner Artie Prevette. I was twelve. We were on our way to a lifelong pursuit of striped bass. My first fish was a 17" striped bass caught at Scotts Hole in Montauk on a Hopkins....It was in October, I had Knee boots, I was up to my chest........DUH!

Sleeping in the truck was an experience in itself. My bunk was between two homemade cabinets that were said to be used for "cooking". They were used for anything but that. Our usual main course was comprised of Devil Dogs, Milky Ways and Yoo-Hoo sodas. Occasionally some surfcasters wife would take pity on us and offer us a "reral" breakfast.....

Must go to dinner!!!!! Will continue, if you wish?
