immigration office tijuana/san ysidro

I'm going to BOLA and Gonzaga next week with my two boys---Would like to know details of the immigration office location at the San Ysidro crossing to stop for our tourist cards.

I read this info in a post awhile back, but can seem to find it now. I recall someone saying that there is bank next to the office that is always open to pay the fee. Is that correct?

Yes, just as you cross the border, park to the right. I usually ask one of the inspectors if it's okay...just to be polite. But, I have only stopped during the wee hours...too busy during the day.

Some will tell you that you won't need tourist permits if you're only going to BoLA. I feel it's better to be safe, and legal, than sorry. But, if you're going for less than 7 days, you don't need a tourist permit.
