A Great Day in Baja, with Friends!

Today (Saturday), Doug Means (The Baja Nomad) and I drove south to Rosarito and met up with J.R. Baja (Ski Baja), who showed us many photos and treasures from his recent trip to Baja Sur.

After a cold Pacifico, the three of us then went a few miles south to Dave's Nueva York Deli, for lunch. Located on the free road, just past the Puerto Nuevo village entrance in front of the big hotel.

Once again, J.R. and I had Dave's 'killer' hot pastrami sandwich... Just great! Doug had tuna salad and all three of us finished with the home made deserts (apple pie, cheese cake, carrot cake). As we came after the lunch rush, Dave had some time to chat with us. Very enjoyable afternoon was had by us.

Thank you Dave and J.R.!

The border wait was 50 minutes starting at 4:15pm. We were asked to show IDs and the Ca Drivers Licenses did work!

Thank you Doug for being a good navigator and showing me that short cut... The day was a great one!
