FM3 Renewals
Anyone have "Factual" information regarding whether there have been any changes in the Financial requirement on FM3s ? Specifically, whether the
required amount on deposit in a Mexican bank for a couple has been raised from the current $1500 ? Last year, when the FM2 Requirement changed, the
FM3 remained the same, but there was talk that it would go up for the coming year.
My broker is out of town for the holiday season so I haven't been able to get in touch with her.

If you renew early you lose that month and need to renew early the next year

bob and susan i been renewing in loreto early every year for the last three and the fenewal date has stayed the same and i havent needed to get a
mexican bank account eather have a good one jerry

I've had an FM-3 for almost 10 years, my experience is similar to jerry's, no Mexican account, consistant expiration date. Financial records the last
few years consist of printouts of my online banking records. But this is Mexico, who knows what the next renewal will bring.

Jerry. How do you manage to get by with out the $1,500.00 (married) requirement? Every year now for the past three years, they have made that
requirement with us. Sooooooooooooo. We have an account with Bancomer. Which by the way, works out great, as when coming south, we stop south of
Ensenada and visit the branch. Show them my card, and draw out about $500.00 us dollars in pesos. Heck of a deal. I used to buy dollars from our
bank here in Oregon, but last time I ordered, I sent it back. Cost them $700.00 in fees for forgetting to tell me that $6,000.00 in u.s. funds was
going to cost me $350.00 So I told them I wasn't interested, and to send it back. They were very unhappy, but accepted the fact they should have told
me they were charged for the service now. For some reason, most of the banks in Oregon now have to BUY their pesos to give to their customers. Old
days, like U.S. National Bank, no fee's. Great racket the exchangers are charging. Banks said, "nowhere else to get it now".

I must lead a charmed life, as long as my ATM card is alive, I never go into, or deal real-time with a bank. I write one check a year for my US health
insurance. Any large expenditures are covered by my ATM withdrawals anticipating when I need the cash, just paid $2700 cash for palapa repair, never
went to a bank, just ratholed money from atm withdrawals from machines in stores.

I renewedmy FM2 in Sept. Same money requrement as the year before. $1000 single.

i do show them my bank statments from the US showing i have adaquit income i all so show then that i paid my fedio my electrice and water bill ahead
for the next year and the reciets for all the pesos i get at the bank and the atm i have never had a mexican bank acount been working for me have a
good one jerry

Great jerry, but some of us don't have elect or water bills to show - glad that works for you. I like the Mex bank account having that available if
needed.
