Leaving in 2 Days

We've been cleaning and packing the camper all day getting ready to leave in two days for 6-8 weeks in Baja. Needless to say, I'm just a little excited.

As a break from packing, I just went to check on our 4 1/2 year old. He was sound asleep and looking like an angel.
Even with all the excitement of getting ready to leave, I got that little shiver of thrill just watching the little man sleep.

I can't wait to watch him sleep in Baja !!

Safe Drive

Safe travels!

I get to go down to spend a little time at my new digs in Loreto in a few weeks (1/29). Can't wait to feel some warmth and sunshine.

What part of WA St. do you guys live in? I live in "far eastern WA" (also known as North Idaho :)...)

Have a great time.

And I think the drive from Orange County is long sometimes.......

Diver....what is your basic plan....going "everywhere"...or do you have a few special places in mind?.....

djh....did you buy a place in one of the new developments in Loreto...moving there eventually or just a vacation place?

djh,

We are in Lyle, on the Columbia near Hood River and The Dalles. Boy it's cold out there in "northern Idaho" !! We'd love to meet some other Nomads so will try to keep touch through this board. Have a great trip !

jim,

We will cross at Tecate' and then head south. If the weather is warm when we get to the BOLA turnoff, we will go there . We will head south and stop in San Ignacio, Mulege/Bahia Conception, Cuidad Constitution, La Paz/El Sargento, then down to Cabo Pulmo, a few days in Todos Santos and maybe a side trip to Abreojos on the way north. We always find a few unplanned side trips and always stay only as long as it feels good !!

In my book, Baja and schedules don't mix !
Ahhh, the relaxation of it all.......mmmm

Diver and Jim

Hey, Likewise, Diver.

Some great folks on this board and Shing (my wife) and I would love to make some new Baja friends. Coeur d'Alene (where we are) has actually been warm(er) and wet the last 2 weeks..... from 2 below zero (F), to high 30's lately... melted the 2+ feet of snow in the yard! Yes, please keep i touch! djh (David)

Hi Surfer Jim,

I bought a lot right in town.... close to the old square and malecon. Nothing on it yet (except a nice CB wall / fence and gate)... I bought a TT to put on it for now. Shing and I will vacation (winter) there initially and build later on (retiring early, I hope). I have no problem with folks who want to live in a LB type community... it just isn't really our style. djh (David)

We'll be in Mulege the week of the 15th

Business between Mulege and Santa Rosalia and maybe Constitution

Look for our White Dodge Dually
We're 8 miles south of the gas station.

Trailering the tractor home for repair...white utility trailer with red boards on the sides.

Honk!!!

Sorry to hijack Diver's post, but didn't you just bring that tractor down Bob and Susan? I've been dreaming about all the landscaping I could do with a little earthmover like that, but it would really be a pain to have to take it back up for repairs.

Bob - wait a dad burned minuto - - - - there are farms all around Constitucion, and has to be a shop there that can work on your tractor, no?? might give it a try before you go to all that hassle of going to tow it north just to bring it back.
i'll be there feb 10-12 or so, maybe longer.;)

The USA is 4 miles from the tractor in Mulege? What about a JD dealer in Mexicali?? No cross border twice problems.
