Could it be AMBER?

On saturday morning while I was setting my husbands panga off to get a client, my three year old daughter was walking around the rocks the make up the Loreto Marina. Then she held up a baseball sized nugget and said "mira, que bonita!" she brought it to me and I'll be damned as I think its a big piece of Amber? Could it be? Any geologists out there, or does this even fall under geology..it is petrified. I'll post a photo of it later this afternoon after I get the kids and have some lunch.

Amber, the photo

I printed up the platt link (above) and the stone passed the test knife scraping and the acetone tests. who knows maybe it floated here from far away but kind of cool to find it right here, no? Just thought it was a cool find for the Loreto marina! below is the gem hunter and her gem (if I can figure out how to attach a photo that is...)

If it is amber, it will melt a a fairly low temp. even though it is a mineralized fossil. It is however found most commonly in the tropics. Baja Amber would be vary rare and valuable, especially a piece that size.
