Baja Weather Reports...from Nomads for Nomads
Seems like a good thing to report. As lots of Nomads are now more or less permanently located all over the peninsula we could get a good weather post
going. How do you like this idea, Doug? Or is this something you have already decided about?
Something like:
Location
Temps Hi and Low
Sky conditions
Wind strength and direction
Seas if applicable
Tides " "
Barometer
Etc. etc.
Or is this too much like...arrgghhh....work?

Weather
Great idea. As a potential owner in Mulege we are concerned about the weather from Sept through June. We would travel during July and August with
our RV. Lots of Grandchildren in Southern Caleefornia
Reaction to weather is, of course, subjective but high winds and high humidity can be uncomfortable.
Not sure when we will make our decision as to purchase but hopefully soon.

cant report on the surf as I missed my beach walk this morning
another beautiful day in Baja
Off to Los Barriles where I have heard the winds are howling as usual for this time of year. Will also be going to Rancho Leonero and will report
back for that person who was going there in March.

Here at Rancho la Aguja (Pacific coast opposite La Paz) we saw a strong (and hot) northerly this a.m. swinging back to NW in the p.m. Sea flat.

Looks like another great sunny day shaping up.
Temps....Right now, 5:50a.m. (my God, it's early!) the temperature outside my warm, toasty computer room is a chilly 56 F. You campers better bring
some warm blankets for sleeping.
Highs today will be to 79 Lows you already have read. Yahoo weather site says 61...they are wrong...it's 56 here..believe me. (For those driving
to North Dakota, it is 15 degrees there.)
Winds....I can honestly say there is not a breathe of wind ...0 mph, although Yahoo says we have a current 5 mph going...hmmm
Okay...I can believe them when they say the wind will probably get up to 5-10 later on today....well,DUH!...it has been doing that for all of the last
35 Februarys I have lived here.
They have the wind direction going from WSW-WNW-N-NE. grrrrr....Let's just figure something-northerly and leave it at that.
Sky conditions.....they predict 'Mostly sunny today'?? This is BAJA, fer chrissakes,.. when ISN'T it sunny! We pray for a cloud now and then just to
break up the monotony.
Seas and Swells....this is the important stuff! Everybody get to your boats! Hardly any swell or seas at all....0-1 foot. Time to head for Tortuga
or Ille del Fonso!
Precipitation...none nor is any expected, except from my brow while pulling in a giant yellowtail.

One thing that I would like to mention, is that the San Jose estuary is full of birds. All differents kinds.
The other day a friend stopped by to enlist our help. She said that a duck was in the road walking around like it was stunned. She and my husband
went to get him. He had gatherered a small crowd of people wanting to help. Miguel, another friend, and Jim managed to get him into a box, then they
drove down to the estuary to release him. He jumped straight into the water and swam away no worse for the ordeal. The duck, by the way, turned out
to be a cormarant.

Low 70's on the beach with no wind....magnificent.
Large group of crows in the dunes(or what is left of them), cawing away.

just got back...
from 2 weeks in Hawaii where it was always warm and the water temp in the mid 70's so I spent most of my time in the water at the beach swimmming with
the turtles and dolphins...got back to so.cal. just in time to catch some wind and rain and temps in the low 50's oh well,we need the rain so I guess I shouldnt
complain...
