Check out page S-19 of the old Baja Almanac (I can't find my new one). There are no roads shown anywhere. I've read that the only way in is by boat.
I'd damn near kill to go on that trip!
I just did a search on "Timbabichi," the name of a village(?) in the center of this area. The computer came up with many references. How great is
this Internet???

100 miles south of Loreto to an old Jesuit mission--The only old mission that far down would have to be Dolores del sur.
I have been told there is a passable 4wd road in there now'

The roads
Was that before or after the hurricane because when I was in that area just after the storms, I heard it was impassable among many others down there.

Mision Los Dolores
In my web site of Baja missions http://davidksbaja.com/bajamissions the photos of Dolores taken by Jack Swords were with the use of a telephoto lens... from a ridge top, after
hiking some distance from a road. The photo by 'Kevin in Oklahoma' were taken after a boat ride up the coast, then a three mile hike to the mission.
The Baja Almanac and AAA maps are wrong, only foot/mule trails go to the mission and Rancho Dolores, or by boat. Unless something was recently
constructed, which can happen!

Unfortunatelly, all the publicity is going to atract many "visitors" that will end up damaging the area.

It is possible, but Dolores is still very remote and that limits the attraction to people more like those who post here.
The bigger damage will come from the Escalera Nautica, if they build it as they keep threatening to, IMHO.

The Exploration
Does anyone know of a website with recent updates? Have they lost contact with civilization ? heh heh heh. Pretty darn interesting what they have to
say but the same applies to these boards, anything to do with Baja, I'm interested.
