Wow, fascinating!

What is the background on this sketch?

We've gone up the valley to inspect the ruins and always sneer at the bogus Calafia "Mission" site.

As a kid, our family regularly engaged weekend trips to the various mission locations in Alta California.

Hope you find the fence gate open... The church was closed and the gate surrounding the church and mission as well... last time I tried to see it.
