Border Follies

So, I'm heading South today at the Garita Oriente in Mexicali. Drive up to the Red-Green and, after a delay, "Green Light". Two vehicles were in the lane next to me, both with Mex plates. As I drive forward, I hear the bell ringing that signifies a RED. I start driving out and the 5-6 guys standing around in the inspection area start waving their arms at me. I continue on for a minute when one of them starts yelling. Mi Esposa rolls down the window and the guy says "Roja" and waves me in. I have to back into the inspection area. I get out and the head man says "Luz Roja". I say "NO, Luz Verde", he says "NO, Roja". I laugh and say it had to be one of the other vehicles because I got a GREEN Light. He Says NO, it's Me. OK, this can go on forever so I laugh, open up the camper shell and show my goods. He looks them over and says OK, Buen Viaje. As I start to get into the truck, he says "Roja", I reply, NO, "verde". At this point, all of the others standing around say "Roja".

Oh Well, No harm, No foul. Just a little bit of wasted time.
