A very clean Ensenada!

Just got back from a few days in ensenada and was very impressed with the "look" of the tourist area. Im not sure if they cleaned it up for the race crowd, or if this is what its become. The sidewalks were spotless (even the gutters) and it seemed as if they hauled off all the panhandlers. Even with the cruise ships in town the street merchants seemed to be corralled to a specific area. Somebody in charge is using their melon.

oh contrary!

Deb, In the days of past, Ensenada was a pretty filthy town, especially in the tourist areas(go figure!) It is nothing like it used to be way back 'then". They have done a really nice job keeping the tourist areas, and others cleaner than ever before. It has an American feel to it now,and everyone speaks english .Just another tourist town, with cruise ships coming in every day. Still, great fish taco stands, Almejas, and prescrition drugs for far less than we pay here in the states.

Hey Sal.....

You would certainly know it better than I , I've only been going to Ensenada for about 7yrs., don't know what it was like in the past. And I do only go these days to see my Dentist, or a stop for lunch on my way north. To tell the truth..... the only cities worth visiting (IMHO) are San Francisco and Sydney. :o
