Surf's UP

Beautiful curls this morning. If I were a surfer, I would be out there. I dont think that I have ever seen waves here that looked better to ride. Perfect in every way.

Where are you judy? Here it's super flat with great visability so Juan is going halibut spearfishing when the tide comes in...as I'm sure the swell will get here in a couple days so we want to get some lenguado now as they are thick as baja thieves right now in San Roque. Yummmy. It's also unusually hot for this area due to Ileanna approaching and sucking all our wind into it.

San Jose del Cabo
This would be the swell from Ileana.
Overcast and winds calm otherwise.

J: Thx, nice to know my pals at Mag Bay are getting surf. Mag Bay benefits from hurricane swells, as long as the hurricane behaves and stays offshore.

Just back from San Lucas and it looked pretty sloppy at Zippers. No one in the water.
Still overcast and looking like rain but nothing has hit the ground yet.

The swell is fininally starting to build here in Asuncion, fishermen are beaching all the pangas. There is a little sailboat broken down here and looks like Juan may have eto pilot her to a secret hurricaine hole behind San Roque Island. Time to tie down the palapa just to be sure but it looks like Ileana is weakening as we speak and heading slowly offshore.

Lovely 11-12' long swells here in Asuncion and supposed to increase over the next few days! Lobster fishermen are happy as they get more lobster when there is a big swell!

I surfed the opening to the new harbor at Santa Rosaliita day before yesterday. Waves break right across the channel in shallow water and down past the jetty. The sand has pretty much filled the basin with the water being about three feet deep in there. However, construction continues. It looks like they will have to keep a dredge working full time to keep it open once they finish. There was a link on another post a while back to a video segment about the spot.

It also appears as though sand will fill in the bay from the point to the first jetty. One surf break fades and another is born.

I had fun out there in hard off shore winds on small, fast peelers. I was about 40% successful on the drops as my long board wouldn't always fit in the bowl, or the wind would blow me out back. One other guy out.
