Anyone heard from Osprey?
I know George was right in the path of the eyewall in La Ribera. Any word from him or anyone there?

I'm not sure which thread it was in, but someone else asked about Osprey & someone else responded that he & his wife were both okay. Seems
like it was a dedicated thread vs being in the Hurraicane John thread, but I'm not willing to swear to that....just that I saw an inquiry about Osprey
& someone posted a positive reply! (Yeah, I KNOW!!! There is a lot of non-specific information contained herein!)

I sent George an email last week and have yet to hear from him. I'm worried.

It was me who asked about Osprey - Jorge and Lynda. Elizabeth Rohrs said they'd been seen, were ok. However, I haven't been able to reach him by
email or by phone in all this time... and I also am quite concerned. Any word on them, please send me a u2u.
**Edit: Sorry longlegz... didn't mean to be redundant... somehow I missed your post.

Osprey and Wife are fine, talked to them this morning.
Phone lines in La Ribera are still 95% down, and most of
us are on dial up. Everyone is getting ready for Lane today.
Doesn't look like we will get whacked as hard as John!

I know some of you want to know what is about here is La Ribera,
It is 8:30 our time, not wind yet , overcast sky; not much to report will
wait till daylight. All Nomads in this village are fine tonight.

La Ribera
We returned last night from La Ribera. The town is getting cleaned up. The streets are filled with piles of debris from the yards. As we left town,
we saw trucks lined up to be filled by loaders. This is serious clean-up! Good thing, too, before someone set a match.
The word is that the federal government is going to give money to the Mexicans who don't have a house to build a one-room block structure with a
concrete roof.
La Ribera is filled with palaperos, window guys, CFE, Telmex, and the usual supply trucks (Coke, beer, building supplies). Some streets are in awful
shape (Phyllis', of course) and others just need to be graded. The new paved street behind the concha apparently just made a real raceway for the
water and it could not make a curve and roared into some poor fool's yard.
FYI, Julio Minjares (hardware store) has been hospitalized with kidney stones, and his father Cesar has been sent home from the hospital for the last
time. Cesar's brother died in San Jose last week, also. Condolences to that family.
Fishing has been great (go figure!).
