Puertecitos to Laguna Chapala Road Condition

Our boys and friends were going to visit us in Bahia de Los Angeles by coming down the east coast road to Laguna Chapala. While I have read the 4WD was required in 2 places, does anyone have current detailed info/advice on 2WD vehicles making it through to Hwy 1???

2wd (high profile) is okay Mike. We were down to Bahia Cristina (5 miles blw Puertecitos) last weekend and I drove about another 10 miles south on my 3-wheeler. Everything is the same thru that stretch and I stopped two pickups coming up from Gonzaga that said it was about like always. And one of them was a 2wd...
