Another "Where would you go" for Cortez side
I'm planning a trip to San Ignacio, Northern Sisters, and a stop along the Cortez side in late January, only I know nothing about the Cortez side.
Where would you go? The ideal candidate would be isolated and hard to get to, North of Santa Rosalia and South of San Felipe, a sandy beach,
and offer some north wind protection. Ideas?

As well as not...we have dropped our hook there many times from November to May with nice weather as our companion, but it can get dicey getting
there and maybe not for the novice. A very unique place, however, and would be a great adventure still.

My car only carries a 10 pound danforth, so I'm not sure I could set the hook with 100% confidence out there.

A panga can take you there...and pick you up. Got VHF? Campgear? Think offroad.

North of El Rosario? That's on the Pacific side.... about at the latitude of El Huerfanito (10 mi. south of Puertecitos).
I would suggest you go a bit more south and try GONZAGA BAY (50 mi. south of Puertecitos/36 mi. north of Hwy. 1 at Chapala).
It has sandy beaches and has nearby facilities (campos, store, gasoline maybe, restaurants, lots of off road adventure sites, very quiet usually).

Is there a safe place to leave a car? That sounds pretty cool. Also, I know some of those islands are more regulated for camping - would I need
camping permits?

Sand beaches north of Santa Rosalia to San Felipe would include:
Los Corrales
San Francisquito
San Rafael
Las Animas
Los Angeles (Bahia de)
Ensenada de San Francisqito/ Bahia San Luis Gonzaga
Nuevo Mazatlan and on north past San Felipe...
