birth certificates


I am going down to the central coast after Christmas(yahoo!)Anyway, a friend informed me this am he would like to go but does not have a passport.Will he be able to get a card with just his birth certificate and license??thanks.

You have to be certain to have the kind of birth certificate that is certified by the county where you were born and not the pretty souvenir kind with the official looking gold stamp that you got from the hospital. For years, I thought I had an official birth certificate.

You will be able to use a birth cetificate, but it must be an original. no copies. This comes from personal experience.
