Just curious Bob,
why did you have to import the golf cart? Can't you just cross as if it is an ATV or dunebuggy? Or perhaps just a licensed vehicle in tow?
Haven't had a bad trip yet....

i imported it...
you can just cross like an atv but....
since it will be at the project forever i want to "be legal"
we WILL be audited
no license on a golf cart....no pink either
just a bill of sale
Broker fee was $150
Import tax was 15% of what "they" thought is was valued
Gas enviorimental fee $66
4 hours of time to import...
some people from the VAGS were "held up" in secondary with a truck-load of stuff but i didn't talk to them....
they were being checked closely
i was told they tried to just drive thru...but i don't know for sure
our guys on the USA side were diverting people to a lot on the USA side and running licenses... some had problems and were asked to park to the side
and unload....

Thanks, was just curious.
I have taken 4 very large truck/trailer loads of lumber and other building materials across at New Border Mexicali in the Declaration Lane the past 8
weeks and not had a problem at all. I hope my luck doesn't run out!
Thanks again
Haven't had a bad trip yet....

importing cost
We have finally finished the land purchase!
Does anyone have experience importing building materials? I am considering purchasing a "kit" home, that is designed to be hurricane resistant. It
will be assembled with local labor. Does anyone have any ideas about the import and shipping fees to Baja Sur?
Thanks for information,
DianaMo

continued...importing cost
I will do this all legally... hire a company to ship and import. I want to consider to total cost in my decision. So approximately what percentage
of the true cost would be charged to cross the border and deliver to Baja Sur.
Suggestions for importers is also requested.

too costly for me...
24% of invoice plus trucker costs in USA and Baja
Local materiels are much easier to assemble for construction
We too looked at kit houses...they aren't as easy to assemble as advertised
