How did I get lost? Mexicali Garrita II to Calexico
Now, I followed all of the signs to Garrita Internacional II, turning right at the Kenworth dealership heading north through Mexicali. The signs were
all along the roadway, but suddenly, I came upon 'Cristobal Colon' and had to turn left along the border. Nearly 2 hours to cross on Monday evening
(4 p.m.). That was a disappointment to say the least.  Any possible suggestions
for my future crossing???

Turn RIGHT one block before the westbound street against the border fence.

I mentioned many times the street name: ARGENTINA which is one way to the EAST... one block south of the border fence road which is one way to the
west.
Lou, I have not tried the more direct route that branches off near the Costco for Mexicali East... Is it easy enough? Have an easy description for
first timers?
I do have the GPS waypoint for Mexicali East border in my Baja GPS web page..

The route I usually take from just north of Costco to the East Entry has some construction going on at the present time so it requires a detour to the
east. Don't know the name of the street where a left turn is required to take you to the gate approaching from the east. I'll see if I can find a
map to post.

Well... when the construction is over, are there any turns or is it a blvd. that goes straight to Mexicali East? Thanks for finding a map...

There are turns (1) - None go direct to Mexicali East (that I know of)

David, how far do you follow Argentina? Is it a direct route to the other crossing? What are the hours of the other crossing. Like Ken, I've only
waited in the main crossing.

Just follow the street and you will see the crossing within a couple of miles.

Turn right at Kenworth sign (Calzada Gomez Morin), take that to a street called Argentina, turn right. I believe the second stop sign is the crossing
entrance. If you're towing stay in the right lane. When I'm towing my rig and truck are about 55' long. Been lost in Mexicali while towing, ain't no
fun.

I always get lost in Mexicali, don't know why 
I get sort of disoriented there for some reason, maybe it's because it's to flat?

You should have turned RIGHT where the arrow that says 'Easiest Route' points.

Thanks for the map, wornout. That helps a lot. I haven't yet been able to find a map that covers the entire area and also has street names on it.

For those of us who haven't been to Mexicali yet, is the right turn at the Kenworth sign (Calzada Gomez Morin) the one (as indicated on the map) just
north of Costco on Hwy 5?

Routing About
Having taken both the Gomez Morin route and the other easterly route via Robledo Industrial, I prefer the latter for less traffic and have driven it
50 or more times. There is only a 0.3 mile difference, the Easterly being the shorter.

If that is the right most one on my picture, I agree with you except for all the stop signs! It will be nice when they bypass that industrial park
and continue the road down the power line.
