You are good

You got the book or what? Check out Matraca Berg's rendition. I lost the Cd to vandals a year ago, but really good. I need to replace it, JP's and J. Buffet's greatest hits before I cross the border, OH! and Bonnie's double live Road Tested. Don't leave home without them.

Yeah. I do kinda got the book.

I have most of his albums, now on CDs. I just about idolized the guy when I was 16 to 18 years old. I think he made me political more than any other influence. It was a pretty big bummer when I finally got concert tickets and he came out so drunk he could barely perform. I heard he kicked the habit later, but I always seem to have bad luck with concerts.

Many of the songs, I can still sing, front to back, even without the cheat-sheet, though. I've got a feeling that when I'm an old lady with Alzheimers, whose forgotten my kids' names and their kids' names, they'll walk in the room and still here me croaking out the John Prine tunes from my adolescence. I sing just like him, by the way!

I've got plenty of Buffet and Rait in the collection too. I'll have to check out Matraca Berg. Never heard of her. But most people still haven't heard of John Prine either, so she's in good company. - Stephanie
