ABC Bus to Loreto
My boyfriend and I are thinking about taking the ABC bus from to Tijuana to one or more of the east coast cities in Central Baja--Santa Rosalia,
Mulege, or Loreto. We have never been past San Felipe on the east coast, or Ensenada on the west.
Our idea of the perfect vacation is lying on the beach, walking on the beach, then more lying on the beach. Any suggestions about best beaches, and
accomodations closest to the beach would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for helping a "newbie"!

The best bathing beaches are between Mulege and Loreto along beautiful Bahia Concepcion.
Santa Rosalia is a mining town, interesting... but not 'pretty'... no clean sand beach, a harbor.
Mulege is Baja's 'Hawaii'. A tropical oasis on a river, two miles from the gulf... beautiful, worth exploring this village.
Loreto is a bit more touristy, the mission (California's first successful) is highly recommended. Sand beach is north of town by the La Pinta hotel.
No beach in front of town (breakwater).
Beautiful beaches about 20 miles south of Loreto, past Puerto Escondido, at Playa Ligui and Ensenada Blanca, just before Hwy. 1 climbs up the mountain
and heads back towards the Pacific side.

Since we will be without a car, is there an easy way to get to the beaches at Mulege and Loreto--taxi or local bus maybe? Thanks!

Beaches
If you are taking the bus you will really enjoy the beaches of Conception bay which is just south of Mulege. I like Ecomundo which has
environmentally developed palapas and a small restaurant, and you can rent kayaks or take a trip with Roy who will open your eyes as to the wonders of
the bay. If you are looking for something a little cheaper, then right next to Ecomundo is a dirt road that goes up and over the hill to escondido
which has some palapas and out door pit toilets. This is one of the prettiest and quitest places in baja. Lot of campers there.
South, I would get out of Loreto and head to Ligui. No charge to camp, though you may be asked for donations for the baseball team and you will
probably want to buy some of Gloria's tamales. They are the best.
From town you can get a taxi to either of these places and they will barter for the best price.

Pescador about Bahia de Concepcion
Hi Pescador, again, You seem always to have good advise and info. I seem always to have questions. We don't recall ecomundo. Where is it in relation
to Santispac or Burro or Requeson? Sounds like a good place to visit. Annie T.

When you go past Santispac, you come on the little settlement of Posada Concepcion. In that same bahia is Ecomundo. Roy has a large palapa which is
the restaurant and has a lot of little palapas that are solar powered and have hammocks hung inside. ANd they rent kayaks or take you out on a guided
trip. And, ensensada is right over the hill on a dirt road within walking distance from Ecomundo. Roy has an old electric spool side about 4ft wide
