HWY 1 North of San Ignacio

Incase someone has not already mentioned this. North of San Ignacio a few miles was a very nasty section of hwy that dropped down and turned then back up. Very sharpe turns. Many wrecks occured in that section of hwy. I am happy to say it has been removed. A new bridge overpass has been built and we used it on our trip in June.

We were through there in late February and they were working hard.
Even at that, this was a very fast-paced construction project, not only for Mexico but for anywhere !!
Congrats to all who made it possible !!

I'm so glad that curve is in the past...many...many locals from this area have been killed there...nearly every family around here has lost someone to that curve...thank goodness for road upgrades these days...I always held my breath and was very nervous there.
