Trip Report: Whales in San Ignacio!

I just wanted to post on my weekend trip the 6-8th. I took my parents on a whale-watching trip to San Ignacio Lagoon this past weekend. We went with Capt. Mike?s ?Screaming Airlines?, and it was awesome! First of all, it was worth the price alone just for the adventure of flying! To see Baja from above is simply amazing! Highlights of the view from above were: seeing L.A. Bay, as you come in through a mountain pass, the mountains just south of L. A. Bay(incredible examples of ?Fault Block Mtns?, and ?Alluvial Fans?, and the coastline from Morro Santo Domingo north to Punta Blanco(incredible!).
Of course, the whales in San Ignacio lagoon were incredible as well, apparently we were lucky, as one whale hung out by our panga and another, and let us pet him/her several times!
I?m telling you now, if you love Baja, and haven?t yet seen it from above, you are missing out!
Capt. Mike was an excellent pilot, and made it a worry-free trip from start to finish! It still blows me away that I got to go to L.A. Bay, have a trip to see whales, and survey the ?Seven Sisters? coastline all in just ONE WEEKEND!
I had such a great time, I?m seriously considering taking a chance and taking the wife/kids down to Scammons? Lagoon to see if there are any whales left from April 9th ?15th, does anyone know if I could still take a whale tour that late in the season, or is it too late?
