2 a.m. Just got home

Hey Gang,

Just got home, 2 a.m.

Left our home in Santa Maria (San Felipe) after 2 days of brutal winds.

Got through the border at Mexicali no problem but reached the bottom of the grade of Highway 8 at Ocotillo and was stopped due to high winds.

No high profile vehicles, and no truck trailer combinations (which was us). Ending up back tracking to Hwy.111 North to Intersate 10 West all the way to Highway 5 at Covina and then south all the way home to Mission Bay.

Gee, that only took 12 hours!

Many of the roads were closed due to the fires and this was the only way to go according to the CHP. Also, we have XM radio with traffic and weather reports keeping us up to day on our long drive. Lots of coffee breaks!

We're home now!

Haven't had a bad trip yet....

Glad you are home safe... Windy, huh? Probably didn't get any work done, so drinking beer was all that there was left to do?

Plenty of work was done. Rough plumbing, electrical, and drywall hanging. Fortunately, we have the roof, windows and doors installed, and the drywall was already loaded in the house.

We put on some tunes, and got into work mode.

Even snuck in a few beers to wash down the drywall dust!

Slept great inspite of the howling wind.
