Driving south late Oct

I am planning on driving south to Los Barriles some time late Oct or early Nov, my time line is flexible. Get laid off from work in mid to late Oct. Looking for someone that may be driving down at that time, that I can tag-along with. Single woman, no not high maintenance, in Subaru Outback w/ dog Olle. It has been years since I have driven down and always had a partner. Thanks

Haven't seen Frizkie online recently but she usually heads south around that time.

We may be heading down to Bahia Asuncion about that time from Vancouver Island. I'll keep you posted if you bump this up in October.

Nope, not related to "evebabe". Frizkie, I will be leaving from central WA. I usually drive down Hwy 97, through Bend, then down 395 past Sierras. I have found that there is way less traffic and much prettier drive. How about you? Do you drive the coast? I also have since met a guy through work, that has driven down for many years, Harry Dunn. He & his wife may also be driving down about that time.

We are planning to head down from Vancouver Island mid-November. Would like to go earlier and maybe we can (we are little flexible). It would be great to connect with others driving down at that time. Could we arrange to meet somewhere near Tecate crossing? We will be pulling a trailer for the first time and are a bit nervous so company would be so appreciated.

Driving Baja late October

Leaving Victoria on Vancouver Island approximately October 24th - probably passing through San Diego around the 28th. Going to Los Barriles if anyone either wants to convoy or share ride and gas. Little dog travelling with me. Not much for additional stuff. We currently have 3 in convoy.

We may be interested in joining you. We are in the Comox Valley and will be heading down about that time. Our dates are not fixed yet but we should know in a couple of weeks. Would be great to have companions from San Diego south.

395 south is a good road all the way.
Been a while since we've been on it, but the only grade I remember is the one around Mono Lake( I believe south of it ). It's lots of 2 lane and needs some defensive driving.

Edit: Forgot to mention: gas prices on the stretch from Carson City south are sky high.

395 South

They are completing the 4 lane improvements south of Bishop. Should be done by your trip.

Fill up with gas in Carson City or Minden/Gardnerville at the AM/PM mini mart, then hit the Indian casino just north of Bishop. They are building or should have completed a new discount gas station in Olancha.
