Guardian Angel Island Slide Shows

“Marooned With Very Little Beer”
Two Months on Guardian Angel Island

Anyone in S. California with an interest in the Midriff Islands of the Sea of Cortez, especially Isla Angel de la Guarda, or paddling the LA Bay area, might be interested in a trio of free PowerPoint slide presentations I’ll be giving. The first is next Tuesday in Lemon Grove.

Tuesday, January 13, 2009 6 PM
Lemon Grove Library
8073 Broadway
Lemon Grove, CA

Weds, February 4, 2009 6:30 PM
Fletcher Hills Branch Library
576 Garfield Ave
El Cajon, CA

Tues, March 17, 2009 7 PM
Palos Verdes/South Bay Audubon
Madrona Marsh Nature Center
Torrance, CA

I’ll be showing about 100 slides and talking about my experiences hiking and kayaking the island, what I’ve learned about its wildlife, geology and history, and discussing the hazards (and wonders) of being two months out there, mostly alone.

More details on my website: grahammackintosh.com

Hope to see some of you there… and maybe hear some of your experiences. Thanks.

Graham Mackintosh

Mr Fisher

I'll be delighted if you and your lovely wife can be there. (I won't say a thing.)

Looking forward to showing you a great escape... with terrific fishing and beer supply by parachute.

Thank you David.

I should point out that in the picture I'm the one without the hat.

The other guy looks like a crow/raven? -- my constant companion/nemesis on the island.

Hi Mulegena,

Hard to feel too sorry for you folks "marooned" in Baja at the moment.

No plans to head further south than LA Bay in January or February, but would be delighted to try to make it to Mulege in March or April. Over the years I've enjoyed giving slide shows along the river, at the Serenidad, and around Conception Bay.

I'll see what I can put together. Keep an eye on the events page of my website.

Thanks for the interest,

Graham

Mexitron,

I would love to visit the great state of Texas. But even with gas prices so reasonable, I'd need to do a lot of talking to make it worthwhile.

I have three lectures in Yuma in February. Mosey on over and I'll buy you a beer. :D

Graham
