How about some great Baja photos from 2001: Lost Mission Hunt #1

July 4, 2001: In the Viva Baja Van with David K was Desert Rat, Mike Humfreville, Paulina (trblmkr), David Eidell, John Perko and our guide Jesus Flores (made famous in Erle Stanley Gardner's 1962 Hidden Heart of Baja, Chapter 6. Also joining us in his truck, was Neal Johns and his passenger El Camote who captured the day on video.

See really giant cardon cactus, wild country south of Bahia de los Angeles, the hazzards of getting too close to a cholla cactus, the Las Flores ruins and cemetery, and more starting at http://vivabaja.com/van1/page6.html

Me too

Every single time I go to any of the Viva Baja pages I want to fire up the buggy and head out. I just viewed El Camote's vidio of that trip yesterday - great stuff. Also the Matomi trip, BBBB #1 and a couple more short subjects. Reading one of the Baja Books which mentioned the Lost Mission this morning and thinking "when should I go" July 4th out for me but later in the month OK

Having Baja Fever

... is a GOOD thing!

Lou, Camote sure does a great job with a video camera and sound mixer, huh!? We showed the Matomi 2001 video to the Matomi 2004 gang at Nuevo Mazatlan last Feb. as well as Camote's Lost Mission Hunt Preview... Sure would like him to get enough orders to finish that one... Great job!

The untold story in the BBBB video was the van popped out of 4WD and that was the only reason it got stuck. Until then it was floating on the sand like a dune buggy.:yes::yes:
