I don't know the history of the Maestro who put the museum together but he is a brilliant pianist. The reason he is doing it there is because most of the instruments belonged to the miners and their wives who lived there.
It's definitely rich in history and quite fascinating to see the music museum as well as the smelters and mine stuff.
Don't know if you've been there but there's an even older Steinway than the one in the picture.
Bob, I took pictures of everything but a serial number which I couldn't find. Tell me where to look and I'll stop by next time down. I bet it's the one that was shipped to La Paz though.

Interesting and unusual stuff, JR! We stopped off at El Triunfo just before the museum opened, so only got to peek in the open doorways.

JR get a few pieces of the black bamboo for me if you can.
Jesse--wonderful picture way back in 1920 they knew we would be back. I have seen the Fort before and understand that it was painted red just for this picture.
