Bahia de los Angeles, through my 'eyes'...
The place does have appeal... it is beautiful, it is only 8 hours from the border, there is so much history in the area, and the people are great.
In the past three years, I have been there EIGHT times! Previous to the Internet's influence bringing me back to Baja, I visited L.A. Bay in 1967,
1974, 1976, 1984, 1985. Then my long 'dry' spell until 2001.
Perhaps the charm of 'Bahia' (to me) is best explained by what I have photographed?

JULY 2001: To work out all the details and potential problems in operating an off road tour service, I invite amigos from the Internet to ride in the
Viva Baja 4WD van prior to starting up the tour business. Joining my kids and I on the 'break in' trip was Debra (Travelpearl, a seasoned travel agent
who knows what paying clients will demand or enjoy), El Camote (video taping for the tour promotional film), David Eidell (feature writer on Internet
forums and e-magazines), and 'Desert Rat' (all around great guy and adventure seeker). Amo joined us at our first stop, Cielito Lindo for M's first

NEW YEARS 2002: Northbound on our 15 days in Baja trip, my girlfriend and I arrive at Camp Gecko from San Ignacio via Santa Gertrudis on Dec. 31, 2001

APRIL 2002: Spring Break and my daughter Sarah and I spend it at Camp Gecko. A second search for the 'lost mission', a hike with Doc Abraham up the

NEW YEARS 2003: Both my kids and I travel south the day after Christmas, 2002 and explore north and south of L.A. Bay. We camp with the Humfreville's

APRIL 2003: Sarah and I go to Mision Santa Maria with amigos and then on to Camp Gecko. We find 'Inky' the dog wondering in the desert east of Santa
Ynez and bring her with us hoping to contact her owners. Inky ran away from us, but we did learn the story of how she got out there. This trip we saw

JULY 2003: Camp Gecko was fun. Mike Humfreville and El Camote caught yellowtail, 4baja provided an awesome fireworks show. We returned to San Borja
with Bo's daughter, Andee and took the tough road on south and west to Santa Ana and up to San Ignacito. On the way home, Sarah climbed up to the

NEW YEARS 2004: Both my kids and I stayed next to Marla's cabin and it rained, a lot! GeoRock and Pete had their new Hummer and we all went to
Montevideo and San Borja, as did the Humfreville's in their big Suburban. The road on to San Borja had lots of mud holes and water crossings. Several
girls from Camp Gecko joined Sarah and rode in back of my Tacoma, hoping to get splashed on. Lost Mission Hunt 5 took us to a new arroyo worth
