No need to feel bad grover. The Tigres are like the Rolling Stones of Mexico. Very popular and been together a long time. The narcocorridos they made their mark with are more a reflection of what mexicans think of the dope (particularly marijuana) issues between the US and Mexico. Although banned from airplay on Mexican radio, these song/stories are like the forbidden fruit of music among Mexican truckers I got to know.

Elijah Wald did an excellent book/cd combination on this some time ago. Good reference. The title is, of course, Corridos and Narcocorridos.
