Shep the Dog Vigil

At Fort Benton, Montana - on the shores of the Missouri River. I came across a town's tribute to man's best friend.

Great Story Pomp...Thanx...It reminds me of a simillar tale...In 1960 on one of our surf pilgrimages to Mazatlan and Sabalo Beach (just north) we would camp in the sand dunes. We noticed each day the bus would stop down the road at exactly 7 am and this little chiuwawla would jump onboard alone and the bus would take off,and each evening at 5pm the bus driver would stop at the same place and open the door and the little dog would jump off and run full steam, to the east and head across the desert with a mission in mind. So one day we took the bus into downtown Mazatlan and the bus driver told us the little dog was looking for his owner, a woman, who had dissapeared 5 years previuous. The bus driver said the dog waited all day on the same corner each day. The bus driver was a very nice man. ++C++:yes:
