Media protest organized by Jose Amate-Mexico Matters

Does anyone know who Jose Amate is, and what Mexico Matters represents? This is the text from flyer that he's been sending out:

GRINGOS FOR BAJA

As friends of Baja, you know that the fear of traveling here has crippled our Mexican brothers’ livelihood. Unemployment is rampant and small businesses are closing daily. We also know that the “popular media” have brainwashed even the most devoted Baja travelers. Those of us who live here, or still visit, know we are safer now in Baja than ever before. However, that message has not been communicated by the media.

I ask you join me in a protest against the yellow journalism practiced by the San Diego Union, ABC Channel 10 S.D., and Clear Channel Communications - broadcasting San Diego’s number one xenophobe, Roger Hedgec-ck. Also, bring tambourines, maracas, clave, drums, whatever to make some noise.

Our objective is to generate media coverage for delivering “our side of the story”.

TUESDAY MAY 25, AT 1:00 PM AT THE NBC STUDIOS, 225 BROADWAY – DOWNTOWN SAN DIEGO, A FEW BLOCKS FROM THE TROLLEY LINE

(The least offensive of S.D. major media outlets, most likely to grant us an interview condemning the competition, and ideally located downtown)

BRING SIGNS, IF AT ALL POSSIBLE, WE WILL ARRANGE TO HAVE A BANNER MADE FOR US TO MARCH BEHIND

PLEASE CONTACT LEROY JOSE AMATE PEREZ, GRINGOS FOR BAJA ORGANIZOR AT 619 819 9369. MEX. TEL. 646 1766759 - ASSIST WITH TRANSPORTATION SPREAD THE WORD!

Yeah...I know who he is. He's been an Ensenada city sycophant for years. Here's one of his more flattering evaluations:

The attachment says it all. sounds like a psychopathic liar. If he wants to march and wave banners, he should do so in Chihuahua to stop drug cartel violence. His actions are to benefit him - not his country.
"Unemployment is rampant and small businesses are closing daily" - idiot - happening in the US too.

That's an eye-opening article for sure on the guy. Sounds like he's just looking out for himself.
