Airfields between San Felipe and BOLA
I sure enjoyed the photos of aristrips between San Felo and BOLA. I believe I've walk on everyone of them--and I don't fly, just explore alot. I
think I can add 2 additional strips not profiled:
El Marmol at 29 59 37.55 114 34 17.49 (closed by the Mexican Army
Brisas del Mar at 29 57 04.99 114 30 34.70 open to serve residents
Has anyone else noticed the new communication links popping up along the Baja side of Sea of Cortez? I believe they're for use against the increasing
drug trafficking. Looks like a system of relays- camp to camp. I've heard that cell phone repeater towers are on their way, too

Yep, that's what it was. But in May I saw that there was ample room to land along side the ditches-to the south. The track was from cars/trucks but
no doubt a small aircraft could use it, too. Nowadays the unscruplous are just using the new road. Pickups stop traffic in both directions
(machineguns and all), the plane lands, exchange made, the plane takes off and the pickups leave. Cowboy-style, 2010!

I just looked at your photos and I think there are 2 El Marmols. I gave coordinates for the one I know along Hwy 5 south of Puertictos keeping with
San Felipe-BOLA theme. Of course, one has to use Hwy 1 to get to BOLA (junction at Laguna Chapala Seca). Well, that is, nowadays, because in 1984 we
made it sucessfully from Punta Final due south. Mostly goat trails and REALLY old information plus alot of winching and towing, but we made it!
