Don Jorge!! Been awhile.
Remember Danny? He bought some refrigeration equipment from you.
It was for his company, “San Pedro Bait”.
He raced NORRA the last two years.
Podium in class 10 last year, third in class.
He drove with us for the 1000 and may drive my truck for NORRA.

Just sayin'. Dreams do come true. She's not completely done yet since there is more pediatric brain surgery to study and still planning on additional
residency in USA. She's proven anything can be done with a lot of determination and a little help.

Roger that....I have helped several other aspiring students and none, none, have had the instincts and drive Emi has. She is far from done impressing
the world. Wouldn't surprise me if she invents or contributes to something that saves lives on a global scale.

Someone should approach her about a business partnership.
I'm sure she needs business acumen help to start a practice and establish an office/clinic.
This was done with a med student from our scholarship group @ Bajamar.
Its the appropriate next step or no more progress for her and the community she wanted to serve.

FYI - The long march has finished....
 Emilia took her national board certifications last week for
Neurosurgery and passed with the highest score in the country. Now she can begin the normal life of a genius and not the grinding 14 hours or more a
day, seven days a week schedule she has endured for 12+ years.
She is now a neurosurgeon who has practiced in Mexico, Japan, France, Belgium, and more with numerous conference presentations in the United States
and various other countries.
12+ years and Nomads were with her the whole way. That's what this board can do without all the harping, naysaying and general unhappiness that
permeates the lives of several frequent contributors here. Emilia is not a psychologist but she could help some here by removing your medulla
oblangata or whatever. Try and say something nice about something, someone, anything sometime and see how honey gets more smiles than your shinola.
Pat yourselves on the back, those of you who positively lifted her up with your kind words, financial assistance, and good advice.
Huzzah, huzzah, huzzah for Dra. Emilia.

Mulege women have been knocking it out of the medical park, recently Dra. Emma Laura Castro graduated 1st in her class and is now a practicing doctor,
working on advanced accreditation as well.

What a journey. I just went back and (re)read her 'field reports' and the focus, fortitude and ambition of that (girl) woman is inspiring. After 12
years she is just getting started. Amazing. Congrats to La Doctora and the 'village' of folks who helped her on the way.

From nephew at 15 to uncle at 32 - Full Circle
Some of you may know Alex, the finest and most experienced fishing guide in all of Mulege, and may have heard about his freak accident that left him
briefly paralyzed with damage to the spinal column and discs.......well luckily Alex is Doctora Emilia's uncle.
When this epic saga started Emilia was already a champion at 15 for tending to her tiny premature nephew in a back of an ambulance from St. Rosalia to
La Paz. With a mountain of determination, brains and support of Nomads Emilia became Chief Resident at one of the largest hospitals in Mexico. Her
residency ends soon but one of her last operations will be on her uncle Alex.
When her residency is complete La Doctora will have been to more than 20 countries, performing more and more complex modern techniques which she
brings back to Mexico to share the knowledge. So world-renowned isn't exactly an understatment.
I know her nephew Lino is doing well and is a tall young man now and her uncle Alex will be back on the the fish with tight lines in no time flat.
Additionally, Emilia guided her father through heart troubles and heart surgery just a few years ago and he is still going strong today. She's a
winner, no doubt.
It is a good feeling but none of it would have been possible without Nomads, good karma, and a reeeealllly smart determined little girl from
beautiful little Mulege.
