Sea Lion Adventure at Isla Asuncion
Mr.Bajafam had a great adventure snorkeling with sealion juveniles at Isla Asuncion. This family has been doing it up baja style all week..beaches,
boating, snorkeling, eating, hangin with the locals.
Here they are pre-inaugurating the Tide Pool bistro.
Here are some video clips of Lionel's snorkel fun.

After a great day at the Isand, we dined on fresh La Bocana oysters...even litte Missy tried them!
with her new strength, she took on Shami in a tug of war.
then she made some sand angels....this kid never stops!!
then a late night dinner at Juanita's kitchen with the new arrivals from France...they loved the pozole!
today we celebrate our much loved and appreciated builder Roberto's birthday...should be fun!!

Isla Asuncion is so amazing with thousands of sea lions, seals and sea bird colonies. Each beach has a different group of sealions and it's own
flavour. The new babies that were born in June are still too young to get in the water so are vulnerable on the beaches. So the bulls patrol in front
of them...one in the water and one on the beach protecting the harem and pups. All the new pups are on beaches on the northeast side of the island.
here are some of the younguns in the right corner...they were messing around in the waves a bit.
The juveniles occupy the southeast side beaches of the island and are who we snorkel with as they are the most fun and curious.
There is one place I call Bull Beach as it is full of males only...this is the landing where the guano bags used to be loaded onto the boats and where
Juan used to slide down the chute on a hollowed out turtle shell!
check out the cool hairdo on this guy!!!
these two were having an argument.
the kids really loved it and learned to bark like sea lions!

Hi Shari:
What are the bulls patrolling for? What will attack the babies while they are on the beach?
Looks fun, for sure.
