We were in 'Baja', without being 'in' Baja!
Yesterday...
Yup, we were at the San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park in San Pasqual... and walked through the Baja Gardens!

Love that place, when we lived in SoCal we had zoo passes and went there more than the regular zoo. Always tried to take the tram at dusk when it was
cooling off and the animals were more active.

Yup Udo... it is the largest 'grove' of Boojum Trees outside of Mexico, I do believe...
The Baja Garden is just above 'Condor Ridge'... You can see much of the boojum forest from the Condor area, too.

We stopped there on our way back from Baja...
...some years ago with our kids - great place...
When we took the tram ride around the perimeter, it stopped next to the Mt sheep area - a steep, rocky side hill...we had a contest trying to see who
could 'count' the most sheep, as they blend in with the rocks, and the longer you look, the more you can spot - it's kind of spooky how well they are
'hidden' in plain sight!

The newer bus/ tram isn't as close to the steep rocky hillside as the rail train was... I think we see more animals now, then from the old train,
however.
