As Germanicus pointed out,
How come with 1006 members, only about 20 or 30 ever post anything? According to the # of views on each post, there must be quite a few people out
there chekin em out, no?
And because of the name of this board, they must have some interest in Baja to even be here, let alone join.
And everyone I know that comes to Baja has some stories to tell.

OK, I'll fess up...
I read posts on this forum everyday, but don't post very often. I'm not shy, but I often feel that the discussions involve very specific places and
situations that I have no experience with. I think the board is a great resource and some people just use it to find answers to questions. Mostly I
just enjoy hearing about other people's experiences and getting a feel for Baja from people who are passionate about it. I'm leaving for a six-day
trip in three weeks, so hopefully I'll have more to contribute then.

Ok ok, I'll post!
I confess I have been "lurking" here for sometime and just recently registered. We have just started discovering Baja and I've come to this board to
gather information when we go on short trips, never been past San Quintin though. There is so much info here that it was easy for us to plan and so
far we've visited a few places you all recommended and had a blast. Thank you. You are like an online guidebook, with all the great links and
stories.
We are planning a 4 day trip next weekend in our motorhome, I know it's not much but we thought we would stop in Erendira, never been there, my
brother wants to surf, any suggestions for this short trip? I will definately come to ask questions when we plan our whale watching trip next year,
the pictures you have look awesome! Thanks for your help.

Monia, when you get back from Erendira please post a trip report, that is somewhere I've never been, although I almost turned off for a visit on my
way north last week. I'm always (it seems) in a hurry to get to the Sea of Cortez side, or running out of time when expected home.

see there, it ain't so bad! As far as your plans, sounds like you pretty much made the right choice to me.
In the motorhome, you can go just a few miles north of Erendira and over a hill to Punta Cabras. Crescent beach and good surf.

You have been to Ejido Erendira twice (driving through that is) late at night going to Punta Cabras and, in the day, leaving (with a newly broken
back, so you can't be blamed for not remembering!)... http://vivabaja.com/cabras
Monia, welcome! Erendira is a farming town very near the coast. The pavement from Hwy. 1 (south of Santo Tomas) ends there (10 miles from Hwy. 1)...
and a good dirt road continues through town and heads north along the coastal cliff, passing Castro's Sprtfishing Motel, then Coyote Cal's Hostel ( http://www.coyotecals.com ), then passes many camping spots in the area known as Punta Cabras (Goat Point).
OR: Just before reaching Erendira from Hwy. 1, see the dirt road going left (south) across the river valley. This follows the coastline to some
incrdible places for camping, after you pass the Baja Malibu Sur RV Park. See the last photo at http://vivabaja.com/davidlorenzo/dlpage6.html

there you go, jr, you've got us
to duck into the door, instead of trying to see through the windows from the outside. I'm one of the seldom-heard audience, but an appreciative one
at that. I have no particular expertise to offer, have only flown into BCS but have great memories from those trips of areas only as far north as
Mulege. Naturally, will return someday to take the road down and find out some of what I've been missing. My hat is off to Doug and all those who make
this board work so well and keep things interesting here. You too, jr, for the great photos and your obvious concern for the people living in the
outlying areas.

jrbaja, I have asked this question before on different forums and privately of persons who should know and got the answers you got and some more: IE
Some are afraid of being flamed, some are the type that although they could be articulate they would not say sucutash with a mouth full of it! Some
like me can not spell (or type), I have that stupid trait that every thing comes out backwards such as If I don't concentrate I spell 'That" as
"Taht"! And then I get in a hurry and then the spelling police who lurk on forums take great delight in pointing it out sarcasticly of course, then I
get poed and really can't spell!!
But this forum would be pretty boring lurking if it was not for David K., jrbaja.Jesse,Debra,fishinrich,wildbill,mrbill, Neal
Johns,MrChuck,grover,Tucker,Bedman,Jack Swords,skeet and so many more I can't remember but you know who you are!
There are a number of people on here that are even more knowledgeable and have advanced edcucations that don't blow there own horn but probably know
more about the subjects on here than all the rest of us!

Muchisimas gracias! I will definately let you know how it goes.
A few more questions if you don't mind.. When we went to San Quintin, off hwy 1 we passed a sign that says Coyote Cals and Malibu Beach, is this
where we turn for Erendira? Also, where do you recommend to camp with our RV (29 ft.), is the Malibu park ok? We have quads, can we bring them and
ride in this area?

You can take your motorhome to any of the places mentioned. Punta Cabras with a motorhome should be spectacular. No hookups.
It is sand dunes down to the beach so yes, there is some great riding there as well. Head south on the quads for some great scenery.
