9th Annual Club de Pesca International Chili Cookoff

If you were at last year’s Club De Pesca International Chili Cookoff (and I bet you
were), you probably recall a pretty long line to get your “Cookoff Tasting Kit” . . . (and I
bet you do?) Well, you can stand at ease because the wonderful ladies of the
administration tent offered us the solution!! Let’s all say it together: Pre-sale Cookoff
Tasting Kit” tickets. Thanks right, starting March 15, 2011, “Cookoff Tasting Kit” tickets
will be pre-sold at Club De Pesca (still at last year’s price of $2 U.S. or 25 pesos). You
can redeem your “Cookoff Tasting Kit” tickets for a “Cookoff Tasting Kit” at a dedicated
line for pre-sold ticket holders the afternoon of the Cookoff – no money handling, no
change making, just plain old ticket swapping. So avoid that long line and be sure to
buy your pre-sale “Cookoff Tasting Kit” tickets.
The Club De Pesca International Chili Cookoff is going to boil over on Saturday,
May 7, 2011 from 1 to 5 p.m. and should run about the same as last year’s (drink
tickets, hot dog tickets, separate table for clothing purchases, etc.)
Chili Team sign-ups and entry fees are now in full swing and must be done in
person at Club De Pesca. Contact Joseph Malek at 686 233-5206. Team rules and
responsibilities are posted below.
Well, that’s about it for now. Look for more detailed information in next month’s
San Felipe Newsletter or on this page. Should you have any questions,
email at clubdepescachilicookoff@gmail.com.

Old people are like the old cars, made of some tough stuff. May show a little rust, but good as gold on the inside.

Deno

you are right. The pre-sales will make the event run much smoother. I have already sold 80 tickets to my South campos buds. We will be defending our 2010 First Place and People's Choice wins. We will include 3 types of wild game along with several types of chili and chili powders.

The 9th Annual

Club de Pesca International Chili Cook Off is now history. The event had 13 teams competing for trophies and cash prizes and attracted 405 guests. The South Campos High Octane team was fortunate to win the People's Choice award for the 3rd straight year, 2nd place with the judges, and $100. Thanks to all who came out to support us. Photos to follow if I can remember how to resize on photobucket.
