Jungle Jim's in Mulege
Ahhhhh, was thinking about our last trip down to Mulege and chili relleno night at Jungle Jim's along the river. Those were the best dang chili
relleno's we ever ate. Nice folks hanging out there too!
Has anyone been here recently - any updates if the food is still great?

this is your beer-drinking-contest guy but unfortunately not at home but in good old germany for very unfortunate reasons.
that?s why I have no password and posting at anonymous.
I?m intending to leave Geremany Nov18. Bit still a lill uncertain.
Flying directly into La PaZ:
Uncertain as there is no hotel/motel room available b/c of that Baja race.
this is the first time since 2 month that I?m looking into this forum
(very sad family and other happenings)
where are u right now?
at home or at baja?
well, some day we will have this beer thing, no matter what, as I am looking for our new domicil from - hopefully- Nov. 18 on.

Jungle Jim's is still the same good food and good people.
we also have a new restraint and bar it is the Pelican Reef and they are doing a good job good food low price and 10 peso beer.

Yeah, the jungle is ready for another
season of gringo happy hour, with all the regulars ponying up daily around 4:00 PM
I was in town for the night friday, saw the pelican. maybe it will succeed. for got to go check out the "cathouse" well, i'll be back there the next 2
weeks so will have to put it on my list.

Frank, just read your post. Good to hear from you again. I am sorry for any misfortunes that brought you back to Germany. But, at least you can
have some great beer while you are there. We have not been down to Baja since April - and it's time we get back down. Maybe a week the end of
December, we will see.

I looked up the Gardenias and found one comment on it... as follows:

Hotel Gardenias is about 4 blocks off the Beach, so it is considered a "Mexican Tourist" hotel. It is a well maintained typical architecture hotel; a
central swimming pool surrounded by two stories of rooms. It has a secure fenced parking lot. I elect to stay here, but if you want to be in on the
action and on the Malecon when you step out of your hotel, go to the La Perla or Los Arcos. Just don't take the rooms closely overlooking the street.
The younger crowd of La Paz cruise the Malecon every weedend - very noisy. Hotel Gardenias is ..... ahh ......
quiet.
My wife and I have seen the Gardenias, and it has been recommended to us by others before, but we have never stayed there or seen the inside of the
place. I think you will like it - you can walk into the busy areas in town, and then sleep well at night.

It is the best value accommodations in La Paz. There are cheaper and moor expensive but for the buck you cant beat it.

Oh, I see...
The Pelican Reef is right in the down-town plaza, in the same spot that "Sports Bar' was located that was run by that couple from Texas a couple of
years ago.
That's a nice spot, right next to George's Internet Caf?, on the Hotel Hacienda's grounds, as it were.
By the way, does anyone know George's Internet Caf?'s email address...I'd like to get in touch with him. Thanks.

just curious, can you get any cell-phone signals in Mulege, these days, or do you still have to get up on a hill to get a signal from Santa
Rosalia....
I guess what I'm asking, is there a cell phone antenna tower in the Mulege area yet?
I could always get a good signal from the hill on Hwy 1, just below the 'Tiburon' microwave tower south of Mulege, but no down town.

We've always been pleasantly surprised with the breakfast fair at Saul's, just south of town towards the Pemex. We've never tried dinner but they have
a nice selection of tequilas !
Of course, the bakery a Serenidad is awsome.

At the Pelican Reef even if you order the grate Hamburger they give you sups of the day and when you taste it you want to cancel the berger and get
more sups
