I saw this on PBS. Really awesome to see the President in all of these adventures, even visiting with his mom.

But back to the video, the Mexican Prez took alot of heat from the media in Mexico for appearing in this show. Apparently there are those who believe that he should be in Los Pinos 24-hours a day rather than trying to promote tourism in his country.

I noticed. I thought the trip to "mama's" house was cool.
Matter of fact, I went to the little town called Tequila many years ago. After so many free samples of Tequila, you are totally sauced by the time you leave.

They just had a replay of this show last night.

Interesting to see the President petting a whale.

Maybe a cynic would conjecture that this is more about damage control than anything else. But, I did find the entire show very entertaining, especially since I've been to many of these places.

In fact, when they were at Chichen Itza, although it appeared there were very few folks around (guessing that security tied the place up). Calderon and Greenberg climbed to the top of the pyramid of Kukulcan, which I have done more than once. A few years back, they banned tourists from climbing that pyramid, supposedly because of the erosion damage to a world class monument.

The YouTube posts aren't there any more - would it be possible to post them somewhere we could download them - possibly on Sendspace?

I have really been wanting to see this!

All righty - you can see it here:

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xlb6j0_mexico-the-royal-tou...

The narration has been dubbed in Spanish but the conversations are all in English with Spanish subtitles, so it is mostly understandable even if your Spanish is worse than mine (it can't be!)

Really worth watching. I think it is wonderful of the president to take time to show us such wonderful things in this lovely country.
