Dog friendly hotels-Guerrero Negro
OK, getting ready to head down to La Paz. Have always camped, but plan to hotel it in Guerrero Negro this time. Any suggestions from those who also
travel with their dog? Our companion is a perfectly behaved 30 lb miniature Australian Shepherd.

Dog Hotel
Hi Jack, We went down with friends that took their dog and after being turned away at Mallarimo,someone told us to go back to La Pinta. No problem at
all. Remember if you are a Baja resident (with fm3)you can get a la pinta card for free and they give you 40% off the room and 10% off food. Not a
bad deal. Check their website for the La Pinta closest to you to get your card. Good Luck,k

Dog friendly hotels
Thanks Keri...we have been turned down at La Pintas before, but never tried the one at Guerrero Negro. I know lots of folks travel with their dog, so
I hope to get some other suggestions too. Camping is sure easier!

It was a long time ago, but in 1973 before the highway was finished, we stayed at the Dunas Motel (I think the only one in town then) and we had two
small dogs.

We stay at the Mallarimo
with our dogs fairly often. So do a lot of other people from what I have seen.
There are quite a few motels that areusually less expensive than the Mallarimo further into town. Just pick one as they are all nice and don't mind
dogs.
Ours are BIG dogs so I'm sure they would have let us know if they weren't welcome.

I have stayed at the hotel Don Gus with a dog. The rooms are basic clean and Inexpensive. $30.00. It's half way through town on the left hand side.

The Posada of Don Francisco. First one on the main drag to town.
It?s not fancy but clean and only 200 pesos a night (~$18.00).
This motel is boat friendly and took our two dogs ...no problem
There is a guy that is in a guard shack all night watchinh the cars....Great!

last year we stayed at the two story hotel on the right middle of town. I asked and they had ne problem with our 95 pound Lab being in the room

Tried at the Malarimo for a room and was told it was "against the law" to have a pet in a room. Went down to the El Morro, and asked and was told no
problema. Have been back since then a few times and always the same for our Golden Retriever, and no extra charge.

Do you mean Don Vicente's? The yellow one one the right? (I think it's actually the 2nd hotel but I've never been into the first so maybe that's the
one you are talking about.
Vicente's has the guard at night which is definitely bonus- also the field (if you can call it that) beside it.

It's clean, simple, safe, dog friendly, and boat friendly(easy to park).
Oh yea...$18 vs $40 at the others.

Well, we're covered. Thank you all for information. Interesting how Malarrimo has different opinions (we're used to that, part of the adventure).
You've given us good alternatives so looks good for our first stop (then Juncalito beach (dog's favorite) for second night, then La Paz. Thanks

Na, I'm pretty sure "Don Vicente" is a middle aged fella that signed us in a few years ago in the front office. Very friendly fella. The older guard
has been there a few years though.
It's a great spot for us with our truck/cargo trailer- we back into one of the trailer spots right beside the hotel and plug-in our freezer.
Than we walk down to Malarrimo's for supper. They told us they won't take dog's there so that, combined with the fact that the parking is a pain in
the butt and the fact that we got electrical shocks in the shower there one night, made us move over to Don's. Pretty basic place but an easy stop.
They even let us bring our dog into the restaurant.
