Don't know if I like that or not! I enjoyed the funky little cabins and I wonder how much the new ones will cost? Do you know if they will have their own bathrooms and any other details?

Then again, I do hope the co-op makes good money from this venture. It is such a wonderful place and nicer cabins would bring more visitors.

Yes, last time we were there they were not good and they started out so nice!

How is the restaurant these days? It has been hit and miss in the past.

We have always had good meals there. My favorite place to camp......no cooking. The breakfasts are excellent. We walk over to the oystinero, buy a couple of dozen oysters, that were plucked from the water that morning, and bring them back to Ricardo. He shucks them. We have as many as we can eat on the half shell and the rest he fries up in a nice tempura batter. Last year a friend from Abreojos brought us some lobster and Ricardo did a great job with them.
I love the place!!!
Renovation of the rooms seems like a good idea.

The times we have had not so good experiences with the restaurant was when they were in the middle of changing management. Once was when Uncle Jerry returned and we believe that he did not know the fish was old. And the same thing happened when the management changed again.

Other than that, we have had good meals. It really is a good thing the co-op bought the place so there can be consistency. It is one of our very favorite places in all of Baja

Ralph, I hope you find out more about the long terms plans!

Long term plans? How llong? The coop has their fingers in a lot of pies right now. The PEMEX, their new garage (this thing is huge) for their 4 semis, and other vehicles. 1/2 the cost of the new salon, and various other projects that are normal operating projects for the cannery.

Don't know when, but the plan is for a complete rebuild that both members of town as well as tourists can take take advantage of.

Our friends who spent 2 months at Campo Rene have told us that each cabin will indeed have its own bathroom.

New garage? Wheremis it located?

The new salon social looks like it will be huge, and beautiful.

Stays in Campo Rene because "home" is way too hot!

The garage is in the center of town right next to Whistlers house, the original Panteon, and next to the boat mechanic (in town, not on the beach). Big blue and white building. Can not miss it.

The new Salon is big. Main hall and lots of meeting rooms. Supposed to be done in time for Ano Nuevo. We will see. They have a ton of people working on it.
